Ross MacKenzie's Story.
1960 - On leaving school, went to Edinburgh
University for 3 years, followed by 1 year at Moray House.
1964 - Took up a post as Maths. teacher at Inverness Royal Academy.
1967 - Met Harry Chambers from Inverness, a tyre fitter with Macrae
& Dick then, and who was also very involved as a leader in
the Y.M.C.A..
1969 - We married and made our home in Inverness.
1970 - Left teaching to have our first child - John - now married
and living in Amsterdam. He is a Computer Programmer.
1973 - Our second child, James, was born. He's a Computer Security
Consultant, working in Edinburgh - missing Melbourne, where he
spent some time working. He gets married on Saturday, 20th July.
1977 - I did some part-time work as a Nursing Auxiliary in the
local Infirmary and loved every minute!
1979 - 91 Was offered a teaching job and decided to go back.
1991 - now. Have done part- time since 1991, when my mother ,
who was unwell came to stay with us.
2001 - At this moment finding the prospect of retiring in October
increasingly attractive!
