One of the class of 1960 who couldn't make it to Tain last August was Gay Russell (nee Mackenzie). Gay would have loved to have joined us, she posted her own story and enjoyed reading everyone else's stories.
And so, when Lesley and Mike decided to go to Melbourne for a genealogy conference in April 2003, we thought we'd try to organise a min-reunion with Gay and her husband Ian.
And so we did. We had a great night, in a fine Italian restaurant in the Crown casino complex, Melbourne's classy (and gaudy) nightspot. The time flashed by and, once again, we realised just how powerful a bond had been formed all those years ago in the Royal Burgh of Tain and its Royal Academy.
Here's what Gay had to say aftyerwards...
Hello Mike and Lesley,
What a great evening it was 2 weeks ago when we finally got together. It didn't feel as if it were 44 years since we had last met. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Make sure to contact us the next time you come east. We took a few more photos when we were walking along Southbank after we left you. They look really great. Do you think we should put some of them on the web site?
We leave for Europe on Sunday for 6 weeks and are looking forward to it SA RS or no SARS!
So here's a few photos of the night (which took me forever to reduce to an acceptable download size...)
