How do we make the charts?

We use a computer program called 'Reunion' to creat the charts based on your family tree information.

We enter the family genealogy into the program and it can then generate a wide range of Charts automatically. We usually have to do some editing to get them to look the way we want them, and then add in photos, maps and other scans if that's required.

If you already have your family information stored on a genealogy program of your own, we can get a copy of it (as a GEDCOM file) and transfer the information into Reunion. That saves our time, and your money.

Family Tree Charts

We can turn your family history information into large, colourful and informative charts. Using our A3 printer, we can produce them in-house, or if you want larger ones, we can have them printed and laminated locally for you.

Charts are very useful to have at Family reunions, so that everyone can see how they relate to everyone else.

Here are some examples of simple charts (without very much information for each person):

  • Left-to-right 'pedigree chart' (or ancestor chart) with boxes
  • Left-to-right 'pedigree chart' (or ancestor chart) without boxes
  • Left-to-right 'pedigree chart' (or ancestor chart) with pictures
  • Descendant chart, combination top-down and waterfall

There are many other types and styles of charts that we can produce, including relative charts, bow-tie charts, fan charts. All of them can be extensively customised to show a little or a lot for each person on the charts. You can add images such as photos, maps, documents to any part of the chart to make it more interesting. Charts can be saved as graphic images and incorporated into other publications.

Come and see us and we'll show you some of the great charts we can produce.
